Where is Ninamu Resort?
Ninamu Resort is located on a private motu (islet) in the southwest corner of Tikehau Atoll, in French Polynesia. It’s an approximately one hour flight to the north east of the main island of Tahiti. Visit the location page for an idea of just how remote Ninamu Resort really is!
How do I get there?
International Air Travel
Air Tahiti Nui is the primary international air carrier of Tahiti, servicing the capital city of Papeete from Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland, Sydney, and Tokyo. Air France also flies to Papeete.
Domestic Air Travel
Inter-island domestic air travel is provided by Air Tahiti. Flights operate daily between Papeete and Tikehau Atoll, with the occasional exception of Thursday. It is possible to travel from Papeete to Tikehau on Thursday via Bora Bora.
Flights typically depart Los Angeles for Papeete in the late afternoon and arrive in Tahiti at 10:30pm or 11:00pm local time. Flight time from Los Angeles is eight hours. Ninamu resort can book rooms for the night at the Sofitel Resort, a short cab ride from the international airport. Flights from Tahiti to Tikehau depart the next morning. Occasionally flights do not depart for Tikehau until the afternoon. This time can be spent relaxing at the Intercontinental Faa’a, or touring downtown Papeete.
Return flights to Los Angeles depart Tahiti late in the evening, allowing ample connection time from inter-island flights, and arrive mid morning the next day.

Can I charter a flight to Tikehau fron Tahiti?
Yes, if the Air Tahiti schedule does not meet your requirements, or you’re traveling with a large group, private charter flights can be arranged. Please contact a Ninamu Resort representative for more details.
Do I have to sign a waiver of liability?
Yes, we require all guests age 18 and over, and parents or guardians of guests under 18 to sign a waiver of liability before arriving on the island. Please download the waiver here.
What type of electrical outlets are at Ninamu Resort?
220v outlets. The same type of outlets as Continental Europe.
Where does that electricity come from?
Ninamu Resort is proud to be totally off the grid. All of our electricity is generated from solar power, and we have a backup diesel generator.
What type of food will we eat?
Breakfasts typically consist of cereals, homemade bread, locally produced organic honey, jams, bacon, sausages and eggs cooked to order. For lunches and dinners we source our produce, poultry and pork products from Eden Isle. Eden is a totally organic, family run farm located on the other side of the atoll. The fish, which we catch and prepare daily (mahi mahi, yellow fin, wahoo, bonito, etc), redefines the word fresh.
Can you accommodate my specific dietary needs?
Certainly! However, we will need ample time to order goods should you require items which we can not source locally on Tikehau. Deliveries are made via cargo ship once a week. Special orders must be placed well in advance to guarantee delivery. Please contact a Ninamu representative with your requests, we’re happy to help!

Is there internet at Ninamu Resort?
Wireless internet is available for free in the restaurant and lounge area. It moves at island speed.
Are there TVs in the bungalows?
No, however satellite TV is available in the lounge.

Are medical services available?
Basic medical services are available on Tikehau. The city of Papeete, on the Island of Tahiti has full medical facilities. For this reason we recommend purchasing travelers insurance with medical and evacuation coverage. Affordable plans are available from:
