How do I get there?
International Air Travel
Your trip to Ninamu Resort begins with international air travel to the French Polynesian capitol city of Papeete, on the island of Tahiti. Air Tahiti Nui is the primary international air carrier of French Polynesia, with flights to Papeete originating from Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland, and Tokyo. Air France also flies to Papeete from Paris and Los Angeles. Flight time from Los Angeles to Papeete is eight hours.
Domestic air travel and transfers to Ninamu
From the capitol of Papeete it’s a short, one hour flight to Tikehau atoll. Inter-island domestic air travel is provided by Air Tahiti. Flights between Papeete and Tikehau Atoll operate at least once a day. When you arrive at Tikehau airport, you will be greeted by Ninamu staff. It’s a quick truck ride through the village to the dock, and a 10 minute boat ride across the lagoon to Ninamu. Transfers to and from Ninamu and the Tikehau airport are included in the price of your reservation.
Are private charter flights avaialable?
Yes. If the Air Tahiti schedule to and from Papeete does not meet your needs, or if you are traveling with a large group, private charter flights to and from Tikehau can be arranged. Please contact us for further details.
Do I have to sign a waiver of liablity?

What type of electrical outlets are at Ninamu Resort?
220v outlets. The same type of outlets as Continental Europe.
Where does the electricity come from?
Ninamu Resort is proud to be totally off the grid. All of our electricity is generated from solar power, and we have a backup diesel generator.
What type of food will we eat?
Breakfasts typically consist of cereals, homemade bread, locally produced organic honey, jams, bacon, sausages and eggs cooked to order. For lunches and dinners we source our produce, poultry and pork products from Eden Isle. Eden is a totally organic, family run farm located on the other side of the atoll. The fish, which we catch and prepare daily (mahi mahi, yellow fin, wahoo, bonito, etc), redefines the word fresh.
Can you accommodate my specific dietary needs?
Certainly! However, we will need ample time to order goods should you require items which we can not source locally on Tikehau. Deliveries are made via cargo ship once a week. Special orders must be placed well in advance to guarantee delivery. Please contact a Ninamu representative with your requests, we’re happy to help!

Is there internet at Ninamu Resort?
Wireless internet is available for free in the restaurant and lounge area. It moves at island speed. It’s typically sufficient for email and messenger communication.
Are there TVs in the bungalows?
No, however satellite TV is available in the lounge.

Are medical services available on Tikehau?
Basic medical services are available on Tikehau. The city of Papeete, on the Island of Tahiti has full medical facilities. For this reason we recommend purchasing travelers insurance with medical and evacuation coverage. Affordable plans are available from:
